This repair is tackled by first removing the bottom back cover which exposes the speaker for the phone. It does have adhesive on it, so give it some heat and a little force to remove it. The top cover just pops off pretty easily from top/bottom.
Once you have the blue plastic cover exposed you’ll see some screws behind it. The metal frame housing removes from the bottom to the top. It’s a little tricky but maneuver it from the bottom and kinda slide up.
Once the frame is removed you can now remove the digitizer, Volume, LCD flex cable from the left side of the phone. You’ll also need to pull the battery out, but make sure and disconnect it from the connector. The battery has a lot of adhesive behind it so be careful and don’t put too much pressure on it.
Once you have everything removed you can heat the front of the phone up to loosen the adhesive and be careful of the bottom flex cable, but get a good spot in a bottom corner and pull up. Once you have the old one off, clean off any spare glass and old adhesive and reapply some new adhesive around the front housing and put on your new screen.
