iOS 7 has alot of new features and some you may not use so why not save yourself some battery life. These tips will also help with the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4s users who are experiencing a slower iPhone.
Reduce Screen Motion (Parallax Effect)
Settings- General -Accessibility -Reduce Motion (Toggle On)
This setting turns off the motion of the user interface. Such as the screen moving around in the background now.
Background App Refresh
Settings- General- Background App Refresh
You’ll have the option to select certain apps or turn them all off.
This settings basically refreshes all open apps behind the scenes of the phone.
Settings- General- Spotlight Search
You can leave the ones you use frequently, but if you rarely use it. Uncheck it.
This is the menu you get when you swipe down on the screen from the top. Its basically a search function for the phone, but with this nice little feature it does keep “indexing” the information on your phone.
Delete old apps you don’t use by holding down the application icon and tap the (x) in the top left corner.
Other Automatic Background Processes
Settings- iTunes & App Store- Automatic Downloads- Toggle Off on All
While your in iTunes & App Store scroll back up and toggle off the Music and Videos that allow background syncing.
Settings- Wallpapers & Brightness
Adjust to something a little lower and also toggle off the Auto-Brightness.
Settings- Privacy- Location Services- (Very Bottom) System Services
Under System Services you can turn off what you feel is appropriate. After that Turn OFF Frequent Locations.
Frequent Locations allows your iPhone to learn where you visit frequently and provides you information based on your location. Such as if you swipe down on your screen from the top you may notice how long it’ll take to get somewhere from where you’re at in that menu.
*This one may not really save your battery or speed of your phone, but since we all appreciate our own privacy I thought this is something that I should mention since it’s kinda creepy.
